Hard Lines roasts in Cardiff and runs this Pontcanna cafe to match. Come here to drink coffee with the explanation included.
One working roastery with a cafe in Cardiff, on Cathedral Road in Pontcanna. They don't do syrups, which is a position, not a gap.
Coffi Lab runs its own roastery in Cardiff, with Adam's named house blends on the menu. Every cup comes with tasting notes, which is not a given in this city.
KIN+ILK roast under their own label and source direct from named producers, with full processing details on every bag. The current El Salvador from Fernando Lima at Finca El Corozo is the most traceable cup in the neighbourhood.
Brunch is the draw on Pontcanna St, and Clifton Coffee is the reason the flat white holds its own. Named roaster, sourced deliberately, better than the brunch-spot default.
Inside Bute Park, with baristas who can pull an off-menu cortado without blinking. The park is the draw, but you won't be drinking down to your surroundings.
A Pontcanna brunch room where the coffee has been thought about as carefully as the food. Specialty beans and proper kit behind the counter mean the espresso doesn't embarrass the cooking.
