Owner-run Castlefield spot with a Japanese drinks menu that punches well above the neighbourhood. Sam knows what he's doing with both the espresso and the hojicha.
A narrowboat cafe moored on the Castlefield canal basin, with a fruity, light-roast espresso that was chosen for flavour. The cinnamon buns have their own following.
Brunch-first and confident about it. The flat white is better than a room this focused on eggs benedict has any obligation to produce.
The Mediterranean brunch is the reason to come, and the coffee holds its own alongside it. Quieter than the city centre, and better for it.
The espresso is well-made and the latte art confirms the baristas have real technique. For Castlefield, that distinction matters.
