A hole-in-the-wall Bruntsfield indie running five rotating Black Dog Coffee Co single-origins, each traced to farm level. The room doesn't prepare you for the sourcing detail.
The brew bar runs single origins from the house roastery, rotated regularly enough that there's always something worth asking about. Staff understand extraction, and the room is built around coffee rather than the kitchen.
A Bruntsfield food spot that takes the coffee seriously. The cortado gets ordered by name, and a regular has ranked it among the best in Morningside.
